General Rules:

**Registration and Exam Notes: Gr. 1 and above – to qualify for provincials, must enter 2 pieces from the same grade(the grade you are currently in), from two different list. Ex. One gr. 1 list A, one gr. 1 List B.​

 

**Competitor Level Selection Guidelines: Pianists must perform at the graded level they are currently studying. If the exam takes place after January 31, 2026, candidates can continue to register for competitions at the same level; however, candidates whose exams are before this date cannot.

**Selections must be played from memory.

**Pianists may introduce their selection and composer but it is not mandatory.

**Open Classes are for pianists who are currently working at the ARCT level or higher.

**All selections must be from the current RCM or CC syllabus – classical piano only.

**NO photocopies will be allowed, and will immediately face disqualification. Same with no music brought to the festival, will also be treated with immediate disqualification.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
